Este ensayo es una lectura de la película Lost Highway de David Lynch que considera las figuras de la bruja y el otro; y su desarrollo  en la narrativa y discurso de la  cinta a través de su banda sonora; Los recursos diegéticos y metadiegéticos que ésta ofrece para consolidar la película como un texto son analizados para ofrecer una posible lectura de la historia de la cinta. NOTA: La primera versión de este ensayo, que data de 2005 y lleva por título “'Witchcraft': la figura de la bruja en Lost Highway de David Lynch" fue publicada por el Dr. Lauro Zavala en su libro de compilación de ensayos Posibilidades del análisis cinematográfico editada por el Fondo Editorial del Estado de México en 2016. La versión publicada en este sitio es mucho mas extensa y cubre otras ramas teóricas en su análisis.This analysis is a reading on David Lynch’s Lost Highway regarding the figures of the witch and the other and their development in the narrative and discourse of the film through the soundtrack. The diegetic and metadiegetic resources that the soundtrack offers to consolidate the film as text are analyzed in order to offer a possible reading on the story of the film.
