Giraldo de Merlo: sus orígenes familiares y nuevas adiciones a su quehacer artístico

Resumen En este artículo se aportan nuevos datos biográficos del escultor Giraldo de Merlo, uno de los representantes más destacados de la escuela artística tole-dana del primer tercio del siglo XVII. En concreto, se dan a conocer su lugar de nacimiento, Utrecht, y las posibles razones de su traslado a España, además de varias informaciones inéditas sobre trabajos encargados en Toledo durante el lustro de 1605 a 1610. Abstract In this article we give themselves new biographicals informations of the sculptor Giraldo de Merlo, one of the best Toledanos artists of the first third of the 17th century. Here are announced his place of birth, Utrecht, and the possible motives of his movement to Spain. Also we announce new works entrusted in Toledo during the period from 1605 to 1610.
