El sepulcro de Don Diego de Anaya y Maldonado

The purpose of this work is to analyze the Don Diego of Anaya and Maldonado’s sepulcher, located in Saint Bartolome’s chapel of the Salamanca’s old cathedral.The main part of the work is focused on explaining the iconography and iconology of both the sepulcher and the fence which is surrounding it. In the same way, we will try to find out the ideology of Don Diego’s time, as well as what was the thinking of the archbishop, and why he thought to build his own sepulcher while he was alive.
