The b i b l i o g r a p h y c o n t a i n s over 300 references to articles written in English in the last decade u p to the end of 1986. The selection of references for the b i b l i o g r a p h y was directed by their relevance to the use of artificial intelligence techniques to assist in the engineering/architectural design process. T h u s n o a t t e m p t has been made, for example, to cover the wide range of papers in electronic C A D unless they have m o r e general relevance. It is p l a n n e d to keep this b i b l i o g r a p h y u p - t o - d a t e a n d we w o u l d welcome submissions of full titles, references a n d abstracts from a n y o n e who would like a n entry included.
