La crítica estadounidense Barbara Foley, siguiendo la pista de los debates generados en los círculos de la izquierda literaria tras la Revolución Rusa en 1917, señala la constante vaguedad a la hora de establecer una definición vinculante para la literatura proletaria. No fue sino hasta la década de 1930 cuando se fijó una taxonomía de la ficción obrera engendrada exclusivamente en su perspectiva de clase. No obstante, este ensayo busca acercarse a esta literatura desde un prisma antiideológico en función a cómo se construye poder simbólico por medio de lo obrero en la literatura. The literary critic Barbara Foley, following the debates around the essence of what constituted a proletarian literature after the Russian Revolution in 1917, points out the vague nature of these efforts within the cultural circles of the Left. It is not until the end of the 1930s that writers are pressed to come up with a taxonomy that fixed such literature in regards to its ability to convey a message from the perspective of the working-class. However, in this article I argue an anti-ideological approach and an analysis of how symbolic power is agglutinated through working-class aesthetics.
