Descripción

Calvary Cave (Amposta, Tarragona province, Spain) is a unique burial site corresponding to Bell Beaker, consisting of comparatively intact "closed finds" (five individual graves and one collective tomb). Its exceptionality and outstanding furnishings documented (Maritime Bell Beaker ZM-[H] and GZM types, tanged copper daggers and pyramidal V-bored square-based buttons) contrasts with the scarcity of new data generated from its excavation in 1957. This situation has pushed us to review site data and initiate a set of new archaeological analysis (C14 dating, archaeometallurgy, ancient DNA).
